Pricing Your Books
Pricing Your Self-Published Books and PDFs
Ok, I'll be honest. I've struggled with pricing. I've launched products priced too high and too low.
I've learned that if you are going to make a mistake make it on the low end. Why? A couple of reasons.
First, you can always raise the price later. Second, it benefits your fans who buy the product right when you release it.
If you release a product and then lower the price, the people who bought it first may feel like they were shafted.
Also, lowering prices seems like a defeat, raising prices feels like a win.
No One Will Remember
Don't be afraid to experiment and try different prices. Most likely the only person who will remember that a book used to be a dollar cheaper is you.
Charge What Your Work is Worth
Never be afraid to charge what something is worth. If you've put your heart and soul into a book, then charge a fair price for it.
If your product provides value, people will pay for it.
When starting out, look at what other publishers are charging for PDFs and books. Gauge your product next to those and come up with a price.
But don't lose sleep over it, you can always change the price and move forward.
Keep Gaming!
