Recreating the Bounty Board Random Table
Among the many improvements in the new edition of The Great Book of Random Tables, the Bounty Board table has been completely rewritten and expanded to 200 entries.
Here’s an example: The Great Book of Random Tables: First Edition
Tyjan Rames, Wanted Dead or Alive: Accidentally massacred a town
Artina Skil, Wanted Dead or Alive: Scammed a man out of his horse
Gary, Wanted Dead: He deserves it
Indigo Callan, Wanted Dead or Alive: Robbed a trade caravan
Now, here is an example of the updated tables: The Great Book of Random Tables: Second Edition
Osmar York | Bounty: 160gp | Wanted Status: Alive or Dead | Crime: Burglary
Borck Hammerstring | Bounty: 120gp | Wanted Status: Alive or Dead | Crime: Cattle rustling
Elton Flen | Bounty: 4sp | Wanted Status: Alive | Crime: Keeping a dangerous bull
Flint Saunderson | Bounty: 130gp | Wanted Status: Alive | Crime: Smuggling
As you can see, the names were improved, bounty prices were added, and crimes were cleaned up and made realistic. Also, odd crimes from the Middle Ages were added for a touch of humor.
The Great Book of Random Tables: Second Edition is coming soon. I’ve completed the layout and ordered proof copies. Once the proofs arrive, I’ll check them over, and hopefully I’ll be able to launch the book.
