We’ve completed another revolution around our local star! I wish everyone a great 2025, but first, let’s look back at Dicegeeks in 2024.
I have a long-standing goal of publishing 12 books per year, but I’ve never reached it. However, in 2024, I published 11 books, surpassing my previous record of 10.
That is a bit deceptive because I worked on The Great Book of Random Tables: Science Fiction for most of 2023 and published it in January 2024. That being said, I’m still counting it as a win that I was able to publish so many books.
The total was also boosted because, since September, I’ve published five books. It is one of my best writing streaks ever, and I’m hoping to continue it into 2025.

I switched the newsletter from MailChimp to Substack, a change I’m enjoying, and I hope everyone else is as well.
I attended GenCon for the first time. Read about my experience here.
Goals for 2025
I’m keeping the goal of publishing 12 random table books in place. I’m optimistic I can reach it—or, dare I say, surpass it—this year.
I’m seriously considering creating an app for my random tables.
I would like to offer VTT integration for my random tables.
I want to write more novels and I’m taking serious actions to do so.
D&D Beyond Debacle Update
A quick update on the mess with the new Dungeon Master's Guide. As you may recall, I ordered the new DMG from D&D Beyond, but they sent an email in error that caused me to order another one.
They finally got back to me a week or two ago, gave me a full refund for the second book, and told me I could keep it since it was their mistake. I’m glad because I had already given it away to a subscriber of this newsletter.
